Rapper Cardi B has been forced to cancel her highly anticipated headlining performance at this weekend’s ONE MusicFest in Atlanta after being hospitalized for a medical emergency. The Grammy-winning artist took to social media on Friday to share the disappointing news with her fans.
Cardi B hospitalized:
“I am so sad to share this news, but I’ve been in the hospital recovering from a medical emergency the last couple of days and I won’t be able to perform at ONE MusicFest,” Cardi wrote in a heartfelt message on Instagram. “It breaks my heart that I won’t get to see my fans this weekend, and I really wish I could be there. Bardi Gang — thank you for understanding, and I’ll be back better and stronger soon. Don’t worry. Love y’all.”
The organizers of ONE MusicFest also issued a statement on social media, expressing their support for the rapper. “Hey #OMFFam! Unfortunately, @iamcardib announced that she is no longer available to join us this year due to ongoing health issues. Let’s all keep her in our prayers for a full recovery!” the post read. “We are working hard to find a replacement at this late date. More to come soon.”
Cardi B was set to headline Saturday night’s lineup at the two-day festival, which will be held at Atlanta’s Civic Center. The event features a star-studded roster, with Earth, Wind & Fire and Nelly also scheduled to headline alongside Cardi. Additional performers include Fantasia, Ari Lennox, Method Man and Redman, Young Nudy, and Larry June. Sunday’s lineup will feature headliners Victoria Monét, Gunna, and Jill Scott, with performances by GloRilla, Keyshia Cole, Sexyy Red, and more.
The news of Cardi’s hospitalization comes just days after the rapper hosted a session on X Spaces in Los Angeles, where she discussed plans for her long-awaited sophomore album. Cardi reassured fans that while there has been a delay, the album is still on its way. “It’s gonna be amazing and unique because everything I do it gotta be amazing and unique,” she mentioned during the session.
While fans and organizers are disappointed by her absence, the focus now shifts to Cardi B’s recovery. Her loyal Bardi Gang has already flooded social media with well-wishes, eagerly awaiting the star’s return to the stage.
