Davante Adams injury update: Here’s what we know so far!

The Las Vegas Raiders have had a tough time with injuries in the first four games of the 2024 season, and star wide receiver Davante Adams is no exception. He picked up a hamstring injury during the end of last week’s Thursday practice, leading to him being ruled out for the Week 4 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. This marked the first game Adams has missed since joining the Raiders.

As the team prepares for their Week 5 game against the Denver Broncos, Adams’ playing status is still uncertain. On Monday, head coach Antonio Pierce shared that Adams’ ability to participate in the game will largely depend on how he practices throughout the week. While this update isn’t particularly detailed, it does keep the possibility open for Adams to return.

Adding to the uncertainty, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Adams is currently considered week-to-week with his injury, which raises the chance he could miss another game. This would be notable, as Adams hasn’t sat out two games in a season since 2020, when he was with the Green Bay Packers.

In Adams’ absence, Jakobi Meyers stepped up for the Raiders, leading the team with five receptions for 49 yards. Tre Tucker also contributed with 41 receiving yards, making him the second-highest receiver for the game. Surprisingly, Brock Bowers, who many expected to play a larger role, only received three targets and managed to gain just 19 yards.

The Raiders are set to begin practice on Wednesday, where they will release their first injury report of the week. Any sign of Adams participating in practice will be encouraging for his potential return to the field.
