While Liz Woods, who was once engaged to “Big” Ed Brown, has moved on with a new boyfriend, Ed has also made headlines with a surprise of his own: he’s now engaged to a new woman! This all happened less than a year after he called off his wedding to Liz.

Is This Engagement for Real?

Ed has a reputation for being dramatic and seeking attention, so many people are wondering if this new engagement is genuine or just a ploy to get back on the reality show 90 Day Fiancé.

This week, TMZ reported that Ed proposed to 29-year-old Porscha Raemond just one day after meeting her in person. They first crossed paths at Capriotti’s sandwich shop in Plantation, Florida, where Ed was hosting a meet-and-greet event for fans. He mentioned that he didn’t plan to propose so soon, but it just “felt right.” Interestingly, he used a repurposed paper clip instead of a traditional engagement ring!

In an interview with Page Six, Ed described their encounter: “I was carrying out these big sandwiches with sparklers. It’s crazy. And in walks this beautiful Italian dish, [Porscha].” He said they felt an immediate connection, adding that they spent their first night together “hugging and smooching” while dreaming about their future.

This marks Ed’s fourth engagement. His first marriage was to Sandra Heckman, with whom he shares a daughter, Tiffany. However, Tiffany is reportedly estranged from Ed, as he shared in his latest TV appearance on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? In his debut season on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, Ed was engaged to Rosemarie Vega, who is from the Philippines.

Most recently, his engagement to Liz Woods was prominently featured on Happily Ever After?, where Ed ended up calling off their wedding just weeks before it was supposed to happen, without even informing Liz directly that they were breaking up.

Given Ed’s impulsive nature, fans are skeptical about his quick engagement to Porscha. In the final episodes of Happily Ever After?, it was clear that Ed still had feelings for Liz. Although he insisted that calling off the wedding was the right choice, he was often seen cuddling with Liz and sending her flirty texts, which puzzled his co-stars. Meanwhile, Liz seemed to be coping well with the breakup, expressing mixed feelings about the cast reunion, which would be the last time she’d see Ed.

With Ed getting engaged so soon after ending things with Liz, many people suspect this is just a stunt for attention or to secure a spot on another season of 90 Day Fiancé.

In another interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ed gushed about his feelings for Porscha, saying it was “love at first sight.” He also took a jab at his exes, Liz and Rosemarie. When asked how Porscha was different from his previous partners, Ed mentioned, “She had amazing breath, the most amazing breath ever.” This was a notable comment because, during his time with Rose, he infamously gave her a toothbrush after criticizing her breath, despite her saying it was due to a medical condition.

Ed added that he felt a connection with Porscha that he never experienced with Rose or Liz. He also mentioned that he hopes to become a national spokesperson for Capriotti’s, the sandwich shop where he met Porscha.

As Ed seems to still be fixated on his past relationships and often brings them up in interviews, he has a long way to go to prove that this new relationship is the real deal. Many fans of 90 Day Fiancé are watching closely to see if this whirlwind romance is true love or just another publicity stunt. Only time will tell, so it’s definitely a situation to keep an eye on!
