The New York Jets may face the Tennessee Titans on September 15 without their starting cornerback DJ Reed, who has been dealing with knee soreness. Reed appeared on the injury report earlier in the week and experienced a setback on Friday. Head coach Robert Saleh had anticipated that Reed would be fully available for Friday’s practice, but Reed ended up not participating. Saleh initially said, “Everyone will be full. The only limited player will be Javon Kinlaw,” but Reed’s absence changed those plans.
Javon Kinlaw, who missed practice earlier in the week due to the birth of his child, returned in a limited capacity and is expected to play on Sunday. Meanwhile, Reed, who was a limited participant on Wednesday and Thursday, was downgraded to “Did Not Participate” (DNP) on Friday and is officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. Reed, a reliable presence for the Jets since signing a three-year deal, missed two games last October due to concussion protocol after starting all 17 games in 2022.
Defensive lineman Micheal Clemons also appeared on the injury report due to a triceps issue but was upgraded to full participation after a limited practice on Thursday. Saleh explained, “He’s just dealing with some wear and tear from the game… but he’ll be full today.” Clemons played 31 defensive snaps in the season opener against the San Francisco 49ers, contributing two tackles and one sack in a 32-19 loss.
On the Titans’ side, six players appeared on their injury report, but all are expected to play on Sunday.
