The New York Times’ latest puzzle game, Connections, challenges you to categorize 16 words into four secret groups by deciphering how they relate to each other. Each day brings a new puzzle with varying degrees of difficulty, resetting at midnight. Like Wordle, Connections lets you track your winning streak and compare scores with friends.
If today’s Connections puzzle has you stumped, don’t worry. Below, you’ll find tips and hints to help you out. And if you still can’t crack it, the answers are at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, you’ll see a grid with 16 words. Your goal is to organize these words into four sets of four by identifying the connections between them. These connections could be anything, such as video game franchises, book series sequels, shades of red, chain restaurant names, etc.
Each group is color-coded: yellow is the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple.
To play, select four words and hit Submit. If correct, those words will be removed from the grid, revealing their connecting theme. If incorrect, it counts as a mistake, and you’re only allowed four mistakes before the game ends.
