Dylan Minnette’s decision to step away from acting and pursue his passion for music stemmed from a shift in perspective and a desire for creative fulfillment. Despite finding success in acting, particularly with his role in 13 Reasons Why, Minnette began to feel the strain of the industry and the intense attention that came with it.
In an interview on the Zach Sang Show, Minnette candidly discussed how acting began to feel like just another job, despite his initial enjoyment and motivation. This realization prompted him to explore other avenues for artistic expression, leading him to focus on his music career with his band, Wallows.
While Minnette does not rule out a return to acting in the future, he is currently dedicated to his role as the lead singer of Wallows. He views this transition as a privilege and is committed to giving his music career his full attention and effort.
Wallows recently released their third studio album, “Model,” and has plans for a U.S. record tour followed by a European tour. Minnette, along with bandmates Braeden Lemasters and Cole Preston, is excited to embark on this new chapter in his creative journey.
