The Rocky Franchise Legacy

Rocky is a celebrated and iconic sports drama franchise. The first film introduces us to Rocky Balboa, a small-time Philadelphia club fighter who gets the chance of a lifetime to fight the world heavyweight champion, Apollo Creed, played by Carl Weathers. The original movie received ten Academy Award nominations and won three, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Editing. The film’s success led to five sequels, each chronicling different phases of Rocky’s life and his mentorship of Adonis Creed.
