The upcoming Shared Skies season in Pokémon GO promises exciting new content, including a schedule for its Battle League events. Set to commence on June 1, the conclusion of the current Pokémon GO World of Wonders season heralds the beginning of Shared Skies. Highlighted in the recently unveiled announcement trailer, Shared Skies will delve into the realm of the Ultra Beasts, formidable extradimensional entities introduced in Pokémon Sun and Moon. Additionally, the trailer teased the appearance of Mega Rayquaza, a powerful legendary Pokémon, last seen in Pokémon GO during the summer.
In a recent update from the Pokémon GO developers, players received detailed information about what to expect during the Shared Skies season, particularly regarding the Battle League festivities kicking off on June 1 at 1 PM Pacific Time (or 4 PM Eastern). At the onset of the season, players can claim end-of-season rewards from the battle screen, while their GO Battle League rank undergoes a reset. Notably, rank-up requirements will remain consistent with the previous season. The Shared Skies season will feature several distinct leagues from June through September 3, offering players opportunities to challenge each other, earn rewards, and climb the global rankings.
Throughout the Shared Skies season, Pokémon GO enthusiasts will encounter various Cups with unique rules governing eligible Pokémon. For instance, the Ultra Premier Cup restricts participating Pokémon to those at or below 2,500 CP, excluding Legendary Pokémon, Mythical Pokémon, and Ultra Beasts. Similarly, the Summer Cup: Great League Edition permits only certain types of Pokémon at or below 1,500 CP to compete. In contrast, the Master Premier Cup imposes no CP limit but prohibits the use of Legendary Pokémon, Mythical Pokémon, and Ultra Beasts.
The Shared Skies Battle League is scheduled to commence on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −8), with various leagues following specific timelines. From June to September 3, trainers can engage in a series of themed Cups and competitions, each offering its own set of challenges and rewards. Notable Cups include the Fantasy Cup: Great League Edition, which requires Dragon, Steel, and Fairy-type Pokémon at or below 1,500 CP, and the Fossil Cup: Great League Edition, which limits participation to Water, Rock, and defensive Steel-type Pokémon at or below 1,500 CP.
In addition to the Cups, the Shared Skies season will feature the Shared Skies GO Battle Week, slated to commence on Friday, August 16, and conclude on Tuesday, August 20, with free battle-themed Timed Research and cosmetic rewards inspired by Lana, the Trial Captain of Akala Island’s Brooklet Hill from Pokémon Sun and Moon. These events promise to add depth and excitement to the Pokémon GO experience, inviting trainers to test their skills and strategize in a competitive environment.
