Jon Bon Jovi drew attention when he appeared solo at Hulu’s special screening of “Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story,” as his wife, Dorothea Hurley, was noticeably absent. This absence came shortly after Bon Jovi candidly discussed the ups and downs of his marriage, admitting that he hasn’t always been perfect in his relationship.

According to reports from Page Six, Hurley’s absence from the screening was due to an undisclosed illness. Sources stated that this illness prevented her from accompanying Bon Jovi to the event. Prior to the screening, Bon Jovi spoke openly about his marriage during an interview with the Independent. The iconic singer, who tied the knot with Hurley in 1989, attributed the longevity of their relationship to mutual admiration and the fortune of growing up together.

However, Bon Jovi acknowledged that sustaining their marriage required sacrifices, with Hurley often bearing the brunt of the challenges. Reflecting on his own shortcomings, he admitted, “These are all the wonderful clichés of rock stardom. It’s about never lying about having been a saint but not being a fool enough to mess up the home life, either.”

In addition to discussing his own marriage, Bon Jovi shared advice for his son, Jake Bongiovi, who is set to marry his fiancée, Millie Bobby Brown. During an appearance on Good Morning America, Bon Jovi emphasized the importance of growing together in a relationship, echoing the foundation of his own marriage with Hurley.

“The magic for me has just been growing together with Dorothea. Every day is a challenge and a change. But if you’re growing together, hopefully, things will work out,” he remarked.

Despite the challenges, Bon Jovi’s enduring love for Hurley and their shared journey serve as a testament to the strength of their bond. The couple, who have four children together, continues to navigate life’s twists and turns hand in hand. “Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story” premiered on April 26, 2024, and is now available for streaming on Hulu.
