While many of us may prefer to relax on the couch, there exists a group of exceptionally athletic individuals who willingly participate in Physical: 100, a Netflix reality competition series centered around fitness challenges.
In the first season, 100 participants, including Olympians, CrossFit athletes, and MMA fighters, competed for the title of the “perfect physique” and a substantial grand prize of 300 million won (approximately $240,000 USD). Woo Jin-yong emerged as the ultimate victor, claiming the coveted title.
Given its Squid Game-esque premise and a controversial victory that sparked conversation, Netflix promptly greenlit a second season of the immensely popular show. The new season, which premiered in March, featured even tougher challenges and a larger arena.
Physical: 100 season 2 once again gathered a roster of 100 athletic contenders, showcasing their exceptional physical prowess. But who emerged as the winner of the second season, and are they willing to share their workout secrets with those of us who may have indulged in one too many donuts?
After an intense finale challenge, CrossFitter and bodybuilder Amotti emerged victorious, defeating former firefighter Hong Beom-Seok, who finished as the runner-up. The final challenge involved pushing opposite ends of a revolving bar simultaneously, with the objective of knocking over a pillar in the arena.
The showdown was a grueling best-of-three test, with Amotti ultimately prevailing by toppling successive pillars in the final two matches. Following his triumph, Amotti delivered an emotional speech, expressing gratitude for the memories made during the competition and thanking his fellow contestants.
The top four finalists, including Justin Harvey and Andre Jin, faced their own challenges, such as holding onto suspended torso statues and squatting increasingly heavy loads of coal. Ultimately, Amotti walked away with the grand cash prize of 300 million won.
While a third season of Physical: 100 has not been confirmed, it’s likely that the show will return for another installment, providing another opportunity for aspiring contestants to test their physical prowess.
