While fans eagerly anticipate a potential collaboration between Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, rumors swirled around the release of Beyoncé’s latest album, Cowboy Carter, suggesting that Swift might have contributed backing vocals to the track “Bodyguard.” Cowboy Carter, Beyoncé’s country-inspired album, pays homage to Black musicians’ contributions to the genre, featuring collaborations with various artists, including country legends and rising stars.
Despite initial speculation fueled by the distinctive vocals heard on “Bodyguard,” which resembled Swift’s style, there has been no concrete evidence confirming her involvement. Fans pointed to the “Ooh Wee Ooh Aah Aah” vocals heard throughout the track as potentially belonging to Swift. However, the credits on the Genius website, which initially listed Swift as providing background vocals, were later removed.
Jason Lipshutz, an executive director at Billboard, denied Swift’s involvement in the song, a statement corroborated by People magazine. While fans may continue to hope for a “Tayoncé” collaboration in the future, it appears that Swift’s participation in Cowboy Carter remains unsubstantiated, leaving their dream collaboration to linger as a possibility for now.
