The “TikTok Rizz Party” has become a viral trend on the platform, with half of TikTok users participating in the joke and the other half waiting for a party that may never come.

The rumor of the Rizz Party started when a promotional flyer for the event circulated on social media. The flyer claimed to be for a TikTok Rizz Party and was popularized through the app, but TikTok wasn’t actually listed as the event’s sponsor. The event was supposedly set to take place at a Latin nightclub/sports bar called La Terraza Crave.

However, many details on the flyer, such as the companies listed as sponsors and the performer DJPLay, were challenging to verify. Rapper Lil Durk was featured on the poster, but there was no confirmation that he was performing or endorsing the event.

Despite the likelihood that the event was fake or a clever marketing ploy, it gained significant attention, leading to various memes and reaction pieces on TikTok. The term “Rizz” has become a slang term for charisma, and users created content joking about the nonexistent party, whether people would show up, and the types of attendees.

TikTok doesn’t have a strong history of hosting events, but it has organized a few in recent years, such as TikTok-hosted events at Vidcon ’22 and ’23 and a “TikTok House Party” in June 2022. While TikTok hosting events like the Rizz Party remains uncertain, the viral attention it generated could potentially lead to real events in the future.
