Energy prices are showing mixed moves today. Some are rising fast on a yearly basis. Others are under pressure in the short term. The data clearly shows a strong long term uptrend in key fuels.
Crude oil is trading at 91.85 USD per barrel. It is up 0.62% today. But the bigger story is the yearly growth. Prices are up 59.78% this year and 43.33% over the past year.
Brent crude is slightly higher at 96.06 USD per barrel. It gained 1.19% today. Year to date growth stands at 57.70%. Yearly gain is 41.20%.
Crude oil and gasoline prices show strong yearly growth above 50%
Gasoline prices are at 3.09 USD per gallon. It is up 0.70% today. Weekly gain is 2.84%. The yearly numbers are much stronger. Gasoline has jumped 80.37% this year and 47.55% over the past year.
Heating oil is trading at 3.82 USD per gallon. It rose 1.86% today. Despite short term dips, it is up 79.27% this year. Yearly growth is even higher at 77.23%.
Urals oil is one of the biggest gainers. It is priced at 116.40 USD per barrel. Even with a daily drop of 0.90%, it has surged 130.77% this year and 95.37% over the past year.
Natural gas and global gas markets decline monthly but hold yearly gains
Natural gas is trading at 2.61 USD per MMBtu. It is up just 0.27% today. But the trend is weak. It has fallen 13.71% in a month and 29.00% this year.
European gas prices are also under pressure. TTF gas stands at 42.01 EUR per MWh. It is up 1.47% today but down 18.48% monthly. UK gas is at 105.41 GBp per therm. It gained 1.69% today. Still, it has dropped 19.58% in a month.
German gas is at 42.62 EUR per MWh. It fell 3.11% today and is down 17.38% monthly.
LNG jumps 99.88% YTD while coal and methanol maintain steady gains
LNG JKM is priced at 19.20 USD per MMBtu. It slipped 0.79% today. But it has surged 99.88% this year and 61.87% over the past year.
Coal is at 133.75 USD per ton. It fell 0.89% today. Yet it is up 24.42% this year and 41.91% yearly. Methanol is trading at 3188 CNY per ton. It gained 1.05% today. Monthly growth is strong at 11.51%. Year to date gain stands at 45.57%.
Naphtha is at 899.86 USD per ton. It is slightly down today. But it has jumped 84.26% this year and 65.79% yearly.
Overall, energy markets show strong yearly growth across fuels like oil, gasoline, LNG, and naphtha. But short term trends remain mixed with gas markets facing pressure.
