As of April 2026, there is no official confirmation from Netflix or tvN that Vincenzo Season 2 will occur. Although widely recognized as one of the most successful K-dramas of 2021, this show continues to be highly ranked on many of Netflix’s global charts after several years due largely to its popularity within the K-drama genre and how well it fits within that category. Despite having a sizeable amount of interest expressed through various channels by fans; numerous petitions have been received; and there remains considerable buzz surrounding this project, neither Netflix nor tvN nor Studio Dragon have yet issued a public statement indicating a renewal decision.

Comments made soon after the show ended (2021) by Song Joong-ki indicated there was “no talk” about a second season and that, realistically, it was “unlikely.” He had also stated the original plan for Vincenzo was as a limited series with an open ending (with Vincenzo and Cha-young having left together to Malta). Both the writer and director have shown some interest in expanding on their universe but no concrete plans were made over this time.

By early 2023 to early 2025, many reputable online sources, including What’s on Netflix, reported that Vincenzo was “pending” or “not going through” with no updates about its production. Various fan campaigns, such as Change.org petitions, were still being conducted during this period.

In May of 2025, while attending a fan and press meeting in Manila, Song Joong-ki responded positively to fans’ passion for Vincenzo (especially from Philippine fans), expressing his surprise and stating he would consult with his writer of Vincenzo, as well as the director, about making a second season. He jokingly stated it might be fun to film back there, and that video of the event quickly went viral, which gave fans renewed optimism—the video was informal interest by the actor, nothing was agreed upon formally or committed to as far as the beginning of production.

There was no further official news about the show between late 2025 and 2026. Netflix renewal lists for 2026 do not include Vincenzo. A large amount of fan-made or AI generated trailers and fake posters have been generated for projected 2025/2026 release dates, but none of those have anything to do with the actual show.
