Dragon Ball is officially coming back in 2026. Fans have been waiting for years. The series has been stuck on hiatus for a long time. Both the anime and the manga went silent. While the manga still has no confirmed return, the anime is now set to continue.

This means Goku and his friends will be back on screen with new adventures.

Before the story moves forward, the anime will first release a Dragon Ball Super remaster. This version will retell the early arcs with better pacing and improved quality. Once that is complete, the anime will finally move into new territory.

The next major storyline will be the Galactic Patrol arc.

This arc is important for Goku. It focuses on his growth and his strongest technique. That technique is Ultra Instinct. Goku first used it during the Tournament of Power. At the time, he could not control it. Since then, he has struggled to use it at will.

In the anime, Goku’s strongest form that he can control is still Super Saiyan Blue with Kaioken. He could not rely on Ultra Instinct against Broly. That gap in his power is exactly what the Galactic Patrol arc addresses.

This arc shows Goku learning to access Ultra Instinct again. This time with guidance. His path moves closer to the Angels, who have mastered this state. At the same time, Vegeta chooses a different direction. He focuses on destruction energy, similar to Beerus.

The Galactic Patrol arc introduces Moro. He is not a typical villain. Moro can drain energy from his opponents. That ability makes him extremely dangerous. Even Goku and Vegeta together struggle against him.

Another key figure in this arc is Merus. He trains Goku and helps him understand Ultra Instinct. With this training, Goku begins to use the power more freely. When fully active, Ultra Instinct pushes Goku beyond the level of some Gods of Destruction.

This makes the arc a major turning point for the series.

The anime version of the story may also expand on Moro’s character. Past adaptations have taken creative liberties. That could lead to new scenes and added depth.

Even after this arc, Goku and Vegeta are far from done. Their growth does not stop here. Stronger threats already exist. Black Frieza has proven that higher levels still await them.

With the anime returning, fans can expect more transformations and larger battles ahead. For now, all that remains is waiting for Dragon Ball’s long awaited comeback to finally begin.
