The Denver Broncos are looking to improve at tight end this offseason, and one name that could be on their radar is Dawson Knox from the Buffalo Bills. Knox is currently under contract, but there’s growing talk he could be on the move.

Chris Landers of FanSided predicts the Bills will cut Knox and his $29 million contract. That would make him a free agent and an attractive option for teams in need. Knox is a reliable tight end, but he’s on the wrong side of 30, and the Bills could save around $11 million in cap space by letting him go. With Dalton Kincaid emerging as Buffalo’s top tight end and a younger player like Jackson Hawes showing promise, Knox could be expendable.

If Knox does hit the market, Landers thinks the Broncos could be a natural landing spot. Denver needs a solid, affordable tight end who can support quarterback Bo Nix and help in the run game. Knox isn’t the primary target anymore, but he’s versatile, can catch passes, and block effectively. He’s the kind of player Sean Payton could use right away.

Knox has been steady for Buffalo throughout his career. He’s more than capable as a pass-catcher and can contribute in blocking. The Bills’ depth at tight end and their salary cap situation make a move likely, especially if they believe Jackson Hawes can step up.

For the Broncos, adding Knox could provide a much-needed boost. Denver already pays a lot to Evan Engram, who has struggled, and adding Knox could create a better balance at the position. They might even consider keeping Engram and pairing him with Knox, giving them a more reliable tight end duo heading into the 2026 season.
