After seven years of marriage, Amy Schumer and her husband Chris Fischer are divorcing. The actress and comedian, 44, confirmed the news in an Instagram post on Friday, December 12. She emphasized that the split is amicable and that both remain focused on co-parenting their six-year-old son, Gene.

In her post, Schumer wrote, “Blah blah blah Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years. We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son. We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time.” The message included a photo of the couple standing together on a subway platform, blending her signature humor with a note of mutual respect.

Schumer and Fischer’s relationship began in late 2017 and moved quickly. They married in February 2018 in an intimate Malibu ceremony, just months after becoming friends. Schumer joked on Today shortly after their wedding, “We got down to business really quick.”

The divorce comes weeks after Schumer cleared her Instagram grid, deleting old posts before returning with a new set of photos on November 11. Around that time, she addressed media speculation suggesting the deletions were linked to weight loss, rejecting the narrative and writing, “I’m proud of how I’ve looked always.”

As they move forward separately, Schumer and Fischer appear focused on maintaining a positive relationship for the sake of their son and family.
