North West, the 12-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, has officially joined Instagram. She made her debut on Saturday, December 20, quickly attracting attention online. Within hours, her account gained over 400,000 followers.
In her first post, North recreated one of her mom Kim Kardashian’s iconic poses. The photo, slightly blurry, shows her flashing two peace signs in a dimly lit room decorated with Christmas lights. She wore a printed Balenciaga T-shirt, a mini skirt, and boots, with her hair styled in a sleek bun. Her caption was simple: “First post.”
According to her bio, her Instagram is managed by her parents. Kim Kardashian, 45, and grandmother Kris Jenner were among her first followers. North is not following anyone yet.
She shared a second post the next day, December 21, showing her covering her face with her hands while bright blue hair peeked out from under a large, fluffy hat.
North is the eldest of Kim and Kanye’s four children. Her younger siblings are Saint, 10, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6. Her parents separated in 2021 and finalized their divorce in 2022.
North is already familiar with social media. She runs a shared TikTok account with her mom called KimandNorth, where she posts dance videos and fun clips with her family and friends.
Recently, North has been experimenting with her personal style and fashion. In October, she tried fake body modifications with friends, including faux face tattoos, a nose piercing, and grillz. On December 9, she responded to criticism about a dermal-style piercing on her middle finger in a TikTok clip, lip-syncing to audio saying, “Why are you crying? How old are you? Just pull it together,” with text over the video reading, “This is for everyone that’s mad over a finger piercing.”
She has also bleached her eyebrows and shared a clip showing off a long blue wig, captioned, “Enjoy your lifeeee.” North’s Instagram debut and recent fashion experiments show her exploring her style and expressing herself online.
