For Pakistan, Fakhar Zaman and Iman-ul-Haq opened the innings. Imam-ul-Haq’s century with seven boundaries, Babar Azam’s 96 runs knock with 11 boundaries and Imad Wasim’s 43 runs knock with six boundaries and one six helped Pakistan to set a huge total of 315 runs with the loss of five wickets. Mustafizur Rahman took five wickets with giving 75 runs. Bangladesh team got a target of 316 runs to chase in 50 overs.
While defending the huge total, Pakistan young speedster took a five-wicket haul and became the youngest Pakistan cricketer to take a World cup five-wicket haul. He dismissed Tamim Iqbal at eight runs, Shakib-al-Hasan at 64 runs, Liton Das at 32 runs, Mahmudullah at 29 runs, and Mohammad Saifuddin at zero runs.
This five-wicket haul of Shaheen Afridi helped Pakistan to restrict Bangladesh to 221 runs and winning the game by 94 runs.
