Not taking anything for granted: Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja

The third and final One-Day International (ODI) between India and Australia is scheduled for Wednesday at Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium. (March 22). The hosts dominated the first game of the series, but the visitors were ruthless in the next game to exact revenge. Mitchell Starc took five wickets as Rohit Sharma’s Men in Blue were bowled out for 117 runs. Later, Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh humiliated India’s bowling attack as Australia chased their target in 11 overs with 10 wickets in hand.

After the hosts were humiliated in the second ODI, Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja stated that he is confident enough to mount a significant comeback in the third ODI.

Ravindra Jadeja: I am feeling good, confident and I will look to continue to do well for longer period of time. I have been working hard in NCA on my skills, I knew at some stage it would pay off and happy with my performance, don’t like to take anything for granted. Everyone is happy, environment is positive and we are looking forward to this game.

In the 1st ODI between India and Australia after Mitchell Starc put India in a tricky situation chasing 189, Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja’s unbeaten 108-run stand off 123 balls got them over the line. Within the first 11 overs, India had lost Ishan Kishan, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav. The Indian chase was then stabilized by captain Hardik Pandya and Rahul, putting the hosts back on top. The wicket of Pandya provided Australia with a brief window of opportunity, but Rahul and Jadeja quickly closed the door. Rahul finished the match unbeaten on 75 off 91 balls, while Jadeja hit the winning runs on 45 off 69 balls.
