The IPL 2023 playoffs race witnessed a significant shift after the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) emerged victorious against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in match 65. This outcome not only secured Bangalore’s position in the top four but also narrowed down the margin for error for the chasing teams, as there are only five league-phase matches remaining.
The Gujarat Titans have already secured their spot in Qualifier 1. Their consistent performances throughout the season have propelled them to the top of the standings, ensuring a direct entry into the first qualifier.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Qualification Scenarios:
If CSK wins their next match, they will guarantee themselves a place in the playoffs. Additionally, a victory will also secure them a spot in Qualifier 1, provided that the Lucknow Super Giants don’t defeat the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by a significant margin.

However, if CSK loses their upcoming match, their qualification will depend on the results of other teams. In this scenario, either the Royal Challengers Bangalore or the Mumbai Indians must lose their final match. Alternatively, the Kolkata Knight Riders must defeat the Lucknow Super Giants by a considerable margin for CSK to qualify for the playoffs.
