Ishan Kishan (born 18 July 1998) is an Indian cricketer who represents Jharkhand in the domestic cricket. Ishan was born in Patna city, the capital of the Indian state of Bihar. Due to registration issue between BCCI and the Bihar Cricket Association, Ishan started playing for the neighbouring state of Jharkhand after receiving advice from a senior player and friend. As per Ishan’s coach, his idols are former Indian team captain MS Dhoni and former Australian wicketkeeper batsman Adam Gilchrist. In December 2015 he was named as the captain of India’s squad for the 2016 Under19 World Cup.
Ishan Kishan has a very healthy average in domestic cricket. He averages 39.62 with the bat in First-Class cricket having scored 5 centuries in 39 matches. In List-A cricket Ishan Kishan averages 40.24 having scored 3 centuries in 45 matches. He has also scored a couple of centuries in T20 cricket at an average of 25.43 in 67 matches.
Teams:
At the domestic stage Ishan has always represented the state of Jharkhand. He has been part of India Red in the Duleep Trophy and India A’s squad in the Deodhar Trophy. Ishan Kishan has also been part of the U-19 squad. At the IPL stage Ishan represented the Gujarat Lions in the 2016 and the 2017 edition before being picked up by the Mumbai Indians in the 2018 IPL auction and has been there since.

Career Highlights:
On 6 November 2016, Ishan Kishan scored 273 runs against Delhi in the Ranji Trophy. This was the highest score by a player for Jharkhand in the Ranji Trophy. He was the leading run-scorer for Jharkhand in the 2017-2018 Ranji Trophy, with 484 runs in six matches.He was also the leading run-scorer for Jharkhand in the 2018-19 Vijay Hazare Trophy with 405 runs in nine matches. In October 2018, he scored a century in the final of the 2018-19 Deodhar Trophy. In February 2019, in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy he scored an unbeaten century against Jammu & Kashmir. In the next match, against Manipur, scored 113*(*refers to not out), to record back-to-back centuries in the tournament.
One of the biggest highlights of Ishan’s career came on the 28th of September in the Dream11 IPL against Royal Challengers Bangalore. He scored 99 runs off 58 balls hitting 9 huge sixes in his innings. He managed to help Mumbai tie the game, after which RCB won the game eventually in the Super Over. Despite his enormous effort coming in vain, he received huge praise and plaudits for his exceptional talent with the bat in hand.
