“My selection and thoughts are based on a principle that I have learned over the years; if you have specialist who can walk in based on one discipline, you fill your team with this players”, said Sanjay Manjrekar.

He also clarified that he has nothing personal with Jadeja and Hardik Pandya, but have a problem with this kind of players.

“I do not have a problem with Jadeja; I have a problem with this kind of cricketers in white-ball cricket. Even Hardik Pandya will not be in my team. They add illusory value of the team. Of course, I have always rated Jadeja highly in the Test format,” he added.

Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja got the chance to play for the first ODI against Australia. Ravindra Jadeja failed to impress while Hardik Pandya scored a 76 ball 90 and helped reaching closer to the target.
