Vijay made his debut on big screen as a lead in 1992 Naalaiya Theerpu, which was directed by his father SA Chandrasekhar. He gave his first hit in 1994 with the film Rasigan. 3. Mershal: With the IMDB rating of 7, Mershal is another film of Vijay on the list which carries a social message. Though the film has some repetitive sequences, the fast-paced screenplay and quirky character played by Vijay makes it a definite watch.

4. Theri: This 2016 film has been rated 7.1/10 on IMDB. The film explores relationship between a father and daughter and captures it beautifully. Chemistry between Vijay as father and Nainika as daughter is a treat to watch. Vijay was spotted in 3 different looks in the film and his energy at different point in time in the film is something which stands out.

5. Nan Ban: Usually Hindi film adapts stories or remakes a film from South Film Industries, but ‘Nan Ban’ is an official Tamil remake of the blockbuster ’3 idiots’.
