BCCI likely to announce women’s IPL with six teams for the league-opener in 2023

Six teams are said to be in the initial phase of the league. The league for women will be kickstarting from 2023.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has finally acknowledged the need to kickstart the women’s IPL from 2023. According to the information by sources close to the governing body of BCCI, the board is likely to announce its decision soon. The reports also suggest that the sponsors of men’s IPL teams will be considered before inviting fresh applications for sponsorships. West Indies and Pakistan have decided to bring up women’s league even before India which is yet to announce its final decision.
