Bayern clear favourites for the Champions league clash, but can Catalan Giants be counted out just yet

Bayern are seeming to be the clear favourites for the Champions League clash, stepping into the quarter finals.

Bayern are clear favourites coming into the quarter finals of the Champions league clash against the Spanish giants Barcelona who are struggling to find their legs and form this season after losing out on La Liga to Real Madrid, while Bayern have been in an outstanding form this season scoring 100 goals in Bundesliga and their star striker Robert Lewendowski has had 51 goals to his name in all competition.

This will be the first time this two clubs meet in the Champions league after 2014/15 season in which Barcelona beat Bayern in the semi finals to eventually lift the trophy after beating Juventus in the Finals, Barcelona will be looking to book their place in the semi finals for two consecutive season as last year they did manage the feat but were knocked out by Liverpool in a historic comeback at Anfield.

In the current build up to the game the Bayern Chairman Karl- Heinz Rummenigge claims that “Davies will take care of Lionel Messi”. Adding fuel to the fire the Barcelona player Arturo Vidal former Bayern player said “Bayern are always favourite but we are Barca, the best team in the world”.

This clearly shows that both the sides are determined to win be it on field or off field battles. Both the clubs have won the prestigious cup 5 times each and have a total of 10 UCL between them, Lionel Messi and Robert Lewendowski will be the focal point of the night while Bayern will look to dominate Barca with the Talents they have on the pitch, Another interesting battle will be amongst the Goal Keepers Manuel Neuer and Marc-Andre- Ter Stegen as both are said to be the best keepers in the world and will be an interesting outcome after the tie for who should be the No 1 for Germany in International duty.

The match is poised to be entertaining and a thriller at the same time with both sets of fans will be hoping to have the bragging rights over their opposition when both the team comes face to face in Lisbon tonight.
