The TikTok controversy is not over yet. After YouTube star’s CarryMinati’s roast video against TikTokers “YouTube vs TikTok” garnered immense likes and comments, YouTube eventually took down his video for violating the platform’s terms of service. Fans expressed outrage and started roasting TikTokers.
But now another prominent TikToker Faizal Siddiqui, has now incurred the wrath of the National Commission of Women and thousand others. In a TikTok video created by Faizal Siddiqui, he shows throwing acid (depicted as paint in the video) on a woman he broke up with.
Netizens have expressed their dislike and have also reported the app. BanTikTok is another trend that has been trending on Twitter. Laxmi Agarwal, who is an Indian acid attack survivor, a campaigner for rights of acid attack victims, and a TV host has made a video where she brings shame to Faizal’s video and questions whether he even knows how much does one drop of acid actually harm.
Twitterati have also tweeted videos of offensive Tiktok videos which promote everything immoral from sexual content to child abuse.
It is high time we take a stand and stop promoting or watching offensive and immoral content.
