Australia vs India: Rain stops play, India 62/2

India’s tour of Australia: Day 2 of the 4th Test match was suspended due to heavy rain. Indian bowlers startled the Australians with top-notch bowling performances in the first session. The Aussies finished for 369/10. Tim Paine played a crucial knock of 50. While Cameron Green played a decent knock of 47 to take Australia to a respectable score.

Indian bowling was fairly inexperienced, However, they bowled flamboyantly. Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur and T Natarajan pocketed three wickets each.

India hadn’t had the best start while batting. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill started the innings. Just when things were looking stable. Pat Cummins was brought into the attack. Cummins got better of Gill. The 21-year-old batsman edged the ball straight into the hands of Steve Smit. Sharma had a sound start. Nathan Lyon playing his 100th Test Match trapped Sharma on 44 off just 74 balls (6 fours). Cheteswar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane stand at the crease before the rain stopped the play.

The play may start early on Sunday to make up for the lost time due to rain. Australia opted to bat first earlier on day 1. Currently, The four Match Test series is levelled (1-1).
