Ajit Jogi, Former CM of Chhattisgarh passes away at 74

Ajit Pramod Kumar Jogi has passed away at the age of 74. He was the first Chief Minister of the state of Chhattisgarh. His duties reigned from November 2000 to November 2003. He resigned from the Indian National Congress political party in 2016. This happened after a harsh discussion followed by accusations.  Jogi and his son Amit were expelled due to anti-party activities. Also for sabotaging a by poll election in Antagarh. After this, he established his own political party the Janta Congress Chhattisgarh. It was fully founded in 23rd June, 2016.

Ajit Jogi suffered from a cardiac arrest on 9th May, 2020. He was shortly admitted in a private hospital in Raipur. Earlier last Friday he suffered two additional cardiac arrests. After the event the doctors explained his condition to b extremely critical. Today, his demise was brought to the attention of the general public by his only child Amit Jogi. Amit took on to twitter at 3:35 pm stating “Not only me but Chhattisgarh has lost his father. His funeral will take place tomorrow in his native land Gorela.”

Prior to his career in politics Ajit Jogi assumed multiple roles. He was selected for the Indian Police Service and Indian Administrative Service. Jogi then served as the District Collector of Indore in Madhya Pradesh between 1981 and 1985. He later served as a Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament.
