A major internet disruption has affected several mobile applications including Zomato, Amazon and Myntra.
The internet outage is blamed on a service disruption on the part of content delivery network company Akamai technologies. “Akamai is experiencing a service disruption. We are actively investigating the issue and will provide an update in 30 minutes,” the company tweeted at 10:02 PM.
The internet disruption has affected several platforms including games like Call of Duty, Delta Airlines, e commerce sites like Amazon and Myntra, and applications like Zomato and Paytm. Users took to social media platforms to report the disruption with many getting error messages like ‘DNS failure’.
Food delivery platform Zomato informed its customers of the internet outage and said,”Our teams are working to ensure all orders placed are delivered asap.”
