Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: Major update & new DLC coming March 7th

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 receives major update with New Game Plus, new suits, photo mode enhancements, accessibility features, and charity-driven DLC.

Insomniac Games has announced a significant update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, arriving on March 7th. This exciting expansion brings highly anticipated features, fresh content, and accessibility improvements, ensuring a more immersive and personalized experience for all players.

The centerpiece of the update is the long-awaited New Game Plus mode. This allows players to embark on a thrilling journey through the story once again, while retaining all previously unlocked suits and abilities. This fosters a deeper level of engagement, allowing players to experiment with different strategies and approaches while revisiting iconic moments. To further enhance the replayability, Insomniac has added “Ultimate Levels,” offering new challenges and rewards, alongside stylish “Golden Gadget” variations.

For fans of customization, the update introduces exciting new suit styles for Peter’s symbiote story suits. Utilizing the new Ultimate Levels, players can now personalize the appearance of their symbiote abilities, including the ability to adjust their colors. Additionally, the update celebrates Marvel’s iconic Hellfire Gala event with the introduction of stylish suits for both Peter and Miles Morales, further expanding the sartorial options available.

Beyond gameplay, the update prioritizes accessibility and inclusivity. The addition of Audio Descriptions and Screen Reader features ensures that players with visual impairments can fully appreciate the narrative and gameplay. Cinematic Captions and High Contrast Outlines provide additional visual clarity and customization options for all players.

Photo Mode enthusiasts can also rejoice, as the update introduces an “action figure mode” and a collection of new stickers. These additions allow players to capture even more dynamic and creative shots, immortalizing their favorite web-slinging moments. The ability to change the time of day after completing the story further empowers players to set the perfect scene for their photographic masterpieces.

Insomniac’s commitment to social impact continues with the Fly N’ Fresh Pack, a collaboration with the Gameheads charity. This DLC pack, available for purchase separately, unlocks new suits for Peter and Miles, along with exclusive photo mode content. Importantly, PlayStation will donate 100% of the proceeds from this pack (until April 5th, 2024) to Gameheads, a program empowering underprivileged youth to pursue careers in the video game industry.

The arrival of the New Game Plus update and the Fly N’ Fresh Pack on March 7th marks an exciting new chapter for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. With its focus on replayability, customization, accessibility, and social impact, this update promises to further elevate the game’s status as a beloved superhero adventure.
