HTC, the Taiwanese smartphone maker, is all set to launch its latest flagship smartphone, the HTC U23 Pro, on May 18.

The company recently unveiled the HTC Wildfire E2 Play in select African markets and confirmed the global launch of the U23 model in a tweet on Saturday. Prior to the official announcement, live images of the smartphone were leaked on a Taiwanese message board, offering a sneak peek into its design elements and specs.

According to the leaked images, the HTC U23 Pro will be available in three color options – silver, light green, and purple. The smartphone boasts a quad rear camera unit with a rectangular camera module placed on the top left corner of the back panel. The camera setup is accompanied by an LED flash unit. The front camera will be housed in a centre-aligned hole-punch slot on top of the display.

The leaked images also reveal that the HTC U23 Pro features narrow side bezels with a slightly wide chin and top bezel. The power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge of the handset, while the bottom edge features speaker grilles and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone will be compatible with HTC’s Viverse VR platform, but details on its implementation have not been revealed yet.

The leaked screenshots of the live images suggest that the HTC U23 Pro will sport a 120Hz AMOLED display panel. The smartphone is expected to be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC and will come with a quad rear camera setup that includes a 108-megapixel primary sensor. The smartphone will launch with Android 13 and is said to be backed by a 4,600mAh battery unit.
