YouTube on Tuesday closed the official account of Sansad TV. On visiting the channel’s page, it is being shown that “This account has been closed for violating the Community Guidelines of YouTube.”
Netizens shared screenshots and videos on the social media website Reddit and Twitter claiming that the YouTube account of Parliament TV was hacked in the late hours of Monday night. However, so far nothing has been said from the government in this regard.
Many users have shared screenshots. It is claimed that late-night the account was hacked and its name was changed to ‘Ethereum’. A video related to cryptocurrency was also claimed to be made live. The last video was posted on the official Twitter account of Sansad TV at 10.35 pm on Monday. It contains a link to YouTube which is no longer available. Till now there is no update from Sansad TV.
Last year, the central government merged Lok Sabha TV and Rajya Sabha TV and named it ‘Parliament TV’. Retired IAS Ravi Kapoor was made the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in March 2021. Parliament TV was inaugurated on September 15, 2021, by Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. The account of Rajya Sabha TV on YouTube itself was changed to Parliament TV. That account has now been removed by YouTube.
Recently, Facebook and Instagram blocked the verified accounts of Chinar Core. After being suspended for a week, the Instagram account has been restored on February 10. When the news of the closure of Instagram and Facebook accounts of Chinar Corps came into the media, the officers of these social media platforms contacted the concerned army officers.
