Millions of users worldwide were unable to access ChatGPT, the popular AI-powered chatbot, earlier today, February 6th. The outage, which lasted for approximately one hour according to reports, sparked frustration and disappointment among individuals relying on the platform for various tasks, from creative writing and coding assistance to general information and casual conversation.
Downdetector, a website that tracks online service outages, reported a surge in user complaints starting around 5:30 AM IST, indicating widespread disruption. The platform acknowledged the issue, confirming that they were “detecting problems with ChatGPT that began 35 minutes ago” at the time of writing this article.
This latest disruption marks the second significant outage for ChatGPT within a short span, with the last incident occurring on the same day, Thursday, February 6th, also lasting approximately an hour.
