WhatsApp to introduce a new QR code support for Android, iOS soon

WhatsApp will soon introduce the new QR code support system, which will make it easier for users to add contacts. The beta version of the application has been released by the company for both iPhone and Android smartphone users, as reported by WABetaInfo.

This new feature will allow the user to add a new contact by simply scanning the QR code. While WABetaInfo has reported this new feature, there has been no official update from Facebook-owner company regarding the same. As of now, users can experience the beta version and provide input to the company before its official release.

As per the report, the plan to include the QR code feature on WhatsApp has been there for quite some time now. WhatsApp is ready to incorporate the feature with the beta version 2.20.171 for Android devices and for iPhone devices.

Users can use the feature by opening it from the settings option within the application. Currently, there’s a QR code functionality present to scan the QR code while logging into WhatsApp web.

To check the new feature, the latest WhatsApp beta version 2.20.171 can be downloaded from the Google Play Beta programme. For iOS users, the WhatsApp beta version can be downloaded from TestFlight. These versions are designed for testing purposes and contain bugs, so it is recommended to download these versions on secondary devices.
