Rishabh Pant made a stunning comeback to Test cricket, scoring his sixth Test century in the second innings against Bangladesh during the first Test in Chennai. With this hundred, Pant has now equaled the record for the most centuries by an Indian wicketkeeper in Test cricket, tying with former captain MS Dhoni. Notably, while Dhoni reached this milestone in 90 Tests, Pant has achieved it in just 34 red-ball appearances.<\/p>\n

Pant\u2019s century came at a critical time when India was in a precarious position at 83\/3 in their second innings. Following the early dismissal of Virat Kohli for 17, Pant steadied the innings, forming a solid partnership with Shubman Gill. His patient and mature knock helped India extend their lead, and he eventually reached his century off 124 balls. Pant\u2019s aggressive yet balanced approach proved pivotal, as India built a commanding lead over Bangladesh.<\/p>\n

Pant\u2019s performance also marked his return to form after a less successful first innings, where he scored 39 off 52 balls before being dismissed shortly after lunch.
