Khaled Mahmud, Bangladesh<\/a>\u2018s team director during the 2023 ICC World Cup, has emphasized the importance of transparency regarding the investigation report prepared by a special committee to assess the team\u2019s performance in the tournament.<\/p>\n

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) formed a three-member special committee on November 29 last year to evaluate the Bangladesh team\u2019s performance in the World Cup. Led by BCB director Enayet Hossain Siraj, the committee also included Mahbubul Anam and Akram Khan. Their assessment focused on Bangladesh\u2019s disappointing performance, as they were the first team to be eliminated from the tournament after winning only two out of nine league matches, finishing eighth out of ten teams.<\/p>\n

The committee commenced its work on December 3, gathering insights from key stakeholders, including head coach Chandika Hathurusingha, skipper Shakib Al Hasan, and team director Khaled Mahmud. Their investigation concluded with discussions with players like Tamim Iqbal and Shakib during the Bangladesh Premier League in Sylhet on January 29.<\/p>\n

While the committee submitted its report to the BCB during a board meeting on February 12, concerns were raised when copies of the report were only provided to BCB president Nazmul Hasan, excluding other board directors. Reports have emerged suggesting that the report contains accusations against certain directors, leading to questions about transparency.<\/p>\n

In response, Mahmud stressed the need for transparency, urging the BCB to make the investigation report public. He highlighted the importance of addressing any issues outlined in the report openly, facilitating resolution and ensuring accountability within the organization.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel whatever is there in the report should be made public. If it is made public if we have any problem it can be solved,\u201d Mahmud stated, emphasizing the significance of transparency in addressing potential issues.<\/p>\n

The decision to make the report public rests with the BCB, and Mahmud expressed confidence that the board would handle the matter appropriately.<\/p>\n
