As New Zealand\u2019s lead soared past 500 on Day 3, the home side opted not to enforce the follow-on after bundling out South Africa for just 162 in the first innings. Williamson\u2019s contribution of 109 helped New Zealand finish the day on 179 for 4.<\/p>\n<p>South Africa began the day on 80 for 4, facing a massive deficit after New Zealand\u2019s first-innings total of 511. Despite a defiant effort from Keegan Petersen, New Zealand\u2019s Rachin Ravindra broke through, limiting South Africa to a total of 172.<\/p>\n<p>In the second innings, South Africa managed to make early inroads with the ball, dismissing Tom Latham. However, Williamson and Devon Conway steadied the innings with a fluent 92-run partnership.
