On Sunday, the ECB announced that former West Indies captain Kieron Pollard will join England\u2019s coaching staff for next year\u2019s T20 World Cup. The event is being co-hosted across Caribbean islands and in the USA. During a career spanning 637 Twenty20 matches, he represented the West Indies team which won the T20 World Cup in 2019. In April this year, Pollard announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.<\/p>\n
In a media release, the ECB said: \u201cFormer West Indies captain Kieron Pollard has been named to England Men\u2019s coaching staff for next year\u2019s ICC T20 World Cup in the West Indies and United States.<\/p>\n
Pollard will join the England Men\u2019s team specifically for the T20 World Cup as an assistant coach and to offer his knowledge of local conditions.<\/p>\n
Pollard, who has captained the West Indies to 63 Twenty20 International victories, can boast a career return of 159 runs and four wickets in fifty-five matches.<\/p>\n
As a powerful all-rounder, he was an integral part of the Mumbai Indians team that won five IPL titles in eight years under skipper Rohit Sharma.<\/p>\n
Since leaving the MI setup, Pollard is still playing in franchise cricket and last took Trinbago Knight Riders to a Caribbean Premier League (CPL) championship.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
