Former Aussie skipper Ricky Pointing makes a bold Kohli prediction on claiming Sachin\u2019s Tendulkar\u2019s ODI record. Pointing firmly believes that Virat Kohli can surpass the great Tendulkar\u2019s record of scoring most ODI centuries, and that too in the current ICC ODI World Cup.<\/p>\n
Kohli currently has 47 hundreds and needs two more to equal the God of Cricket and three more to make history by scoring the most ODI tons. Tendulkar scored 49 ODI centuries in 463 matches, while Kohli has 47 ODI centuries in just 282 matches. No doubt, the legend himself once mentioned that Virat Kohli could break his record. The same reason why Pointing believes it too is because of the potential Kohli holds.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI think he will. I think he\u2019ll definitely get two hundred; whether he gets the three is another thing,\u201d Pointing said on the ICC review podcast.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
The former Aussie skipper also mentioned that the pitch variation in India can be a factor of concern, but Kohli must keep going as this can be his last World Cup as well.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cBut the venues, the wickets, and the grounds in India are just so conducive to scoring and making big runs. Who knows with him; it\u2019s probably his last World Cup as well,\u201d Pointing added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
Kohli, among his 47 ODI hundreds, has scored 26 of them while batting in the second innings, in which 22 of those centuries have guided India to win the match.
