The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has shortlisted candidates for the head coach position of the Indian women\u2019s cricket team. Among the contenders are Amol Muzumdar, Tushar Arothe, and Jon Lewis. The BCCI-appointed Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) will conduct interviews with the candidates on July 1-2, chaired by Ashok Malhotra.<\/p>\n
The new coach is expected to be announced by July 3 and will likely be given a two-year term to ensure continuity leading up to the T20 World Cup in 2024 and the 50-over World Cup in 2025.<\/p>\n
The head coach position has been vacant since December 2022, with Hrishikesh Kanitkar serving as interim head coach. Amol Muzumdar has been offered the head coach role for Baroda\u2019s senior men\u2019s team but is awaiting the CAC\u2019s decision on the women\u2019s team position.<\/p>\n
Tushar Arothe, previously associated with the Indian women\u2019s team, is also in contention. Overseas candidate Jon Lewis, who coaches the Trent Rockets, is under consideration as well.<\/p>\n
The BCCI aims to have the new coach join the team ahead of the upcoming tour of Bangladesh, while Kanitkar may continue in a temporary capacity.<\/p>\n
