{"id":5921,"date":"2023-03-27T14:43:40","date_gmt":"2023-03-27T09:13:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.businessupturn.com\/sports\/?p=292498"},"modified":"2023-03-27T14:48:59","modified_gmt":"2023-03-27T09:18:59","slug":"icc-changes-indore-pitchs-rating-from-poor-to-below-average","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.businessupturn.com\/sports\/cricket\/icc-changes-indore-pitchs-rating-from-poor-to-below-average\/","title":{"rendered":"ICC changes Indore pitch\u2019s rating from \u2018poor\u2019 to \u2018below average\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"pb-2\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"603324c1-9a82-4035-8400-48b0d6437e40\" data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\"><strong>ICC has changed the pitch rating for Indore from \u201cpoor\u201d to \u201cbelow average\u201d following an appeal by The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"pb-2\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"eaddeabf-4dfd-48cf-8888-86080f858ab8\">\u201cIn response to an appeal by the Board of Control for Cricket in India under the ICC Pitch and Outfield Monitoring Process, the pitch rating for the third Test of the ICC World Test Championship series between India and Australia at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore from 1-3 March has been changed from \u201cpoor\u201d to \u201cbelow average,\u201d according to ICC.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"pb-2\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"52578eb5-a8d0-4b9e-8452-ed6e9bcb1827\">The pitch came under immense scrutiny during the third test of the Border\u2013Gavaskar tournament. The ICC appeal panel consisted of Wasim Khan, ICC General Manager, and Roger Harper, ICC Men\u2019s Cricket Committee Member. They reviewed footage from the match after BCCI appealed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pb-2\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"a3e7bebe-e4fd-4155-844f-44242d23f946\">ICC Broad states that \u201cthe very dry pitch unbalanced bat and ball, favouring spinners from the onset.\u201d Beginning with the fifth ball, the surface broke occasionally. As a result, there was little or no seam movement and an excessive and uneven bounce throughout the match.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"pb-2\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"881f70ac-0ad6-4c3f-b7e2-3409adfcba37\">ICC Match Referee Chris Broad submitted a report to the ICC expressing match officials\u2019 concerns. After consulting with both captains, Rohit Sharma and Steve Smith, the decision was made.
