Suryakumar Yadav, the 32-year-old batsman who recorded a hat-trick of golden ducks in the ODI series against Australia, has received the a positive backup of Indian captain Rohit Sharma. Speaking to reporters after India\u2019s 21 defeat in Chennai on Wednesday, Rohit called Suryakumar\u2019s recent collapse \u201cunfortunate,\u201d but he refrained from making any assumptions.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe played only three balls\u2026 I don\u2019t know how much you could look into it. Today, I didn\u2019t think it was that great a ball. He just chose a wrong shot. He should have maybe come forward. He knows the best. He plays spin so well. We have seen that over the last couple of years. That\u2019s why we wanted to hold him back and give him that role of the last 15-20 overs where he could play his game,\u201d Rohit said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really unfortunate that he could only play three balls in the series. That can happen to anyone,\u201d Rohit added.<\/p>\n
