Former coach Ravi Shastri believes veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin easily fits into India\u2019s best XI of all time, and that teammate\u00a0Ravindra Jadeja is on track to do the same.<\/p>\n
\u201cI never compare eras, but the record that he (Ashwin) has \u2013 especially in Indian conditions \u2013 would make him a favourite to get into that (all-time XI) squad,\u201d Shastri said (ICC).<\/em><\/p>\n During his illustrious 12-year international career, Ashwin has already claimed 463 Test wickets, and Shastri believes the right-armer is among the best India spinners of all time.<\/p>\n \u201cIn Indian conditions he\u2019s something else. I mean, you\u2019ve seen some great spinners in the past. He\u2019s right up there. And the fact that he can get you runs at crucial stages makes all the difference.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Shastri also believes Jadeja, 34, could join Ashwin in the running for a spot in India\u2019s all-time XI if he maintains his recent good form with both bat and ball.<\/p>\n He (Jadeja) will start to get the credit (he deserves) now. There\u2019s no question about it,\u201d Shastri declared.<\/p>\n \u201cThe last year, year-and-a-half, he\u2019s been simply outstanding because he\u2019s realised his potential.<\/p>\n \u201cHe gives you nothing and it\u2019s a nightmare (for opposition batters). Especially if you\u2019re not in good form, and you are in the opposition as a batsman, you\u2019ll have nightmares. You\u2019ll have Jadeja in your dreams because the guy gives you nothing.<\/p>\n \u201cIf it\u2019s a track where the ball is up and down, he can be even more dangerous than Ashwin. Ashwin anyway has the guy (with his) skill.
