Due to a possible stress fracture in his back, New Zealand pace bowler Kyle Jamieson will not play in the upcoming two-match Test series against England.<\/p>\n

Jamieson\u2019s back injury from last year\u2019s England tour has recurred, incidentally, as is his current injury. Jamieson did bounce back from that setback, participating in the New Zealand XI\u2019s practise match against England in Hamilton and going on to play for the Auckland Aces in the Super Smash and Ford Trophy. After the practise match, he underwent a scan, which likely showed a back stress fracture.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really gutting for Kyle to have this happen after he\u2019d put so much hard work in to getting himself back on the park. Since the injury in June we\u2019ve certainly taken a cautious approach to managing his return with regular monitoring by our medical staff which has included scans,\u201d New Zealand coach Gary Stead said.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\u201cWhile Kyle\u2019s not feeling any pain, the evidence is pretty clear he has a stress-fracture and so he\u2019ll return to Christchurch today and have a CT scan on Friday before we decide on the next steps,\u201d he added.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
