Josh\u00a0<\/span>Hazlewood\u00a0<\/span><\/span>is\u00a0<\/span><\/span>likely\u00a0<\/span>to\u00a0<\/span>miss\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>first\u00a0<\/span><\/span>half\u00a0<\/span><\/span>of\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Test\u00a0<\/span>series\u00a0<\/span><\/span>after\u00a0<\/span><\/span>failing\u00a0<\/span><\/span>to\u00a0<\/span><\/span>recover\u00a0<\/span><\/span>from\u00a0<\/span>an\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Achilles\u00a0<\/span>injury\u00a0<\/span><\/span>on\u00a0<\/span><\/span>his l<\/span><\/span>eft\u00a0<\/span>leg\u00a0<\/span><\/span>sustained\u00a0<\/span><\/span>while\u00a0<\/span><\/span>bowling\u00a0<\/span><\/span>in\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Sydney\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Test\u00a0<\/span><\/span>last\u00a0<\/span><\/span>month.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Apart from assisting his teammates with their training, Hazlewood has not participated in Australia\u2019s pre-series camp in Alur.\u00a0While it appears he will miss the first Test, allowing Scott Boland to play his first overseas Test, his availability for the second Test in Delhi is also in doubt due to the short turnaround between matches. Australia is already missing Mitchell Starc for the first few games of the series.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot sure about the first Test. It\u2019s still a few days away but it\u2019s sneaking up pretty quickly. Second one is obviously straight after as well. So, we\u2019ll play it by ear over the next week and next few days and hopefully Tuesday goes well,\u201d Hazlewood said before Australia\u2019s final session at the KSCA Stadium in the outskirts of Bangalore on Sunday (February 5).<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\u201cJust a bit of workload management at the moment. Just managing the Achilles. I was bowling a fair bit leading into the tour at home and sort of just pushing up against it. Probably wasn\u2019t recovering as well as I would have liked between each session so thought we\u2019d give it a few days here straight of the bat and try and get over the hump and have a bowl from Tuesday on (in Nagpur) and hope it goes well,\u201d he added when asked about his lack of participation in the Alur sessions.<\/p>\n
