Royal Challengers Bengaluru opener Phil Salt is not part of the playing XI for the IPL 2026 Qualifier 1 clash against Gujarat Titans in Dharamsala on Monday, May 26, with Jacob Duffy coming into the side.<\/p>\n
Ahead of the match, RCB captain Rajat Patidar had hinted that Salt was still under medical observation despite being \u201cfit enough\u201d to participate in some drills. However, the franchise eventually decided not to risk the England wicketkeeper batter for the crucial playoff clash.<\/p>\n
Salt had earlier travelled back to the United Kingdom after suffering a finger injury during RCB\u2019s league-stage clash against Delhi Capitals on April 18. Although reports suggested he was expected to return before the playoffs, he was notably absent from RCB\u2019s training session on the eve of the Qualifier 1 fixture against Gujarat Titans.<\/p>\n
At the toss, Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill opted to bowl first citing the dew factor in Dharamsala, while Patidar said RCB would have preferred batting first anyway.<\/p>\n
