The SA20 2023 is scheduled to begin on January 10 with MI Cape Town and Paarl Royals scheduled to play the season opener in Cape Town.\u00a0The top-tier South African league will run from January 10 to February 11<\/strong>. The Proteas will host England for a three-match ODI series from January 25 to February 1 so the top-tier South African league will be halted between January 25 and February 1.<\/p>\n

The MI Cape Town, Durban Super Giants, Joburg Super Kings, Paarl Royals, Pretoria Capitals, and Sunrisers Eastern Cape<\/strong> are the six teams in the league. For the coveted title, all six teams will compete.<\/p>\n

The lucrative T20 league consists of 33 matches that must be played, with each team facing the other twice during the league in the traditional home-and-away format, followed by two semifinal matches, and the championship match.<\/p>\n

SA20 is South Africa\u2019s second attempt to manage and sustain a T20 league after the Mzansi Super League\u2019s failures. The goal of the tournament is to develop local players while giving them a chance to compete against famous cricketers.<\/p>\n

The league is set to offer total prize money of 70 million rands (Rs 33.5 crore approx.)<\/strong> \u2013 the biggest purse in the history of South African franchise cricket.<\/p>\n
