The win lifted Rajasthan to second on the points table, while Lucknow slipped further to ninth after another disappointing batting display.

The standout moment of the night was a historic one for Jofra Archer, who became the leading wicket-taker in Rajasthan Royals’ IPL history with 68 wickets. It also marked the most wickets by any bowler for the franchise.

Shami strikes early, RR wobble but recover late

Lucknow chose to field first and started well with the ball. Mohammed Shami struck twice in the third over, removing Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel in quick succession. Jaiswal had earlier been part of a 32-run opening stand with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, but RR quickly slipped into trouble.

The innings never fully stabilised. Rajasthan were reduced to 77 for 5 just after the halfway stage, with wickets falling at regular intervals. Sooryavanshi struggled for timing, and even Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer failed to convert starts into substantial scores.

Ravindra Jadeja then anchored the recovery with an unbeaten 43 off 29 balls. He found support from Donovan Ferreira (20 off 19) and later Shubham Dubey (19 off 11), who played a useful late cameo as an impact substitute. Jadeja’s late acceleration, including a six in the final over, helped Rajasthan reach 159 for 6.

Shami (2/30), Prince Yadav (2/29) and Mohsin Khan (2/17) were the pick of the bowlers, while Mayank Yadav had a difficult return, conceding 56 runs in four overs. Digvesh Singh Rathi kept things tight but went wicketless.

LSG batting frailties exposed again as RR surge up table

The chase fell apart quickly. Archer, Nandre Burger and Brijesh Sharma exploited the bounce and movement, reducing LSG to early trouble. Three batters were dismissed for ducks, including failures from Rishabh Pant and Nicholas Pooran, continuing their poor run of form.

Mitchell Marsh fought alone with 55 off 41 balls, but he lacked support as wickets kept falling around him. Once Marsh was dismissed, the innings collapsed, and Lucknow were bowled out for 119 in 18 overs.

Parag’s on-field calls guide RR through defence

Rajasthan Royals defended 159 with control at Ekana, with Riyan Parag’s captaincy playing a key role alongside the bowling. Even with a dip in his batting form, he stayed active throughout, constantly speaking to bowlers, adjusting fields and reading match-ups.

A key moment came after Mitchell Marsh reached his fifty and hit a six, when Parag advised Nandre Burger to use slower balls, leading to Marsh’s dismissal next ball. He also guided Brijesh Sharma before a first-ball wicket.

With this result, Rajasthan Royals move to second on the table with five wins this season. Lucknow Super Giants, meanwhile, are left searching for answers after another top-order failure.

Archer leads RR’s charge as Lucknow collapse under pressure Rajasthan Royals produced a dominant all-round performance to beat Lucknow Super…

[3

post-49857","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-ipl
["GET
