Zakir becomes the fourth Bangladeshi batsman to score a Test century on debut. Aminul Islam, Mohammad Ashraful and Abul Hasan are the other three Bangladeshi batsmen who scored a century on Test format.<\/p>\n
Zakir Hasan led Bangladesh\u2019s resistance with a tenacious century on Day 4, making his mark in his first Test and then some. Prior to finally losing to Ravichandran Ashwin off a rather amazing catch from Virat Kohli, Zakir scored 100 runs in 224 balls.<\/p>\n
After making the catch, Kohli was seen giving Zakir a pat on the back and speaking to him briefly. The discussion appeared to be cordial, and Zakir later acknowledged that the former India captain had congratulated him in a press conference following the day\u2019s play.
